lion's share

SOLD

I just got home from a wonderful trip with my sister to London and Paris! It was just fantabulous. I was especially inspired by the fantastic lush overgrown Highgate Cemetery in London. This sleeping lion is on the grave of the first Zookeeper George Wombwell, then called a menagerist.

  1. It is indeed a wonderful lion. I love the closed eyes and almost smile on this statue. Gives such a wonderful sense of whimsy in the middle of those gorgeous gardens. I love the way you paint, Nora.

  6. There is something about the elegant decay feeling of an old overgrown cemetery. A beautiful painting.
