Which?

Portrait
or Landscape?

I didn't mean for this painting to work both vertically and horizontally and now I can't decide between a nice big sky or a few extra cute pedestrians. Preferences?

  1. They're both interesting Nora but the second one has more of a story, more action and I do love stories! :) Have a good weekend!

  2. Portrait! I just think it looks more elegant. Nicely done.

  5. Hmmm, difficult choice... I'd go for a square crop. ;)

  7. I would use the portrait and the piece with the pedestrian also as a Second painting. So you will have two paintings which you can use together as a Set. I love your paintings!

  8. I love the horizontal view just because it shows more of your buildings and color. You amaze, Nora. You were my inspiration on the piece I am still working on. Alas, apparently I can't do Nora style work. LOL

  9. Tough. Don't know either. I have been playing catch up - and you are just doing so much wonderful work! And so many varied subjects. Wonderful!

  10. I love your pantings. I am starting to paint. I would like to know which is the order: first of all you paint with watercolours and then you draw the black lines around or just the opposite? What do you draw these lines with? Thank you.

    1. Hello. I always draw first. With this painting I used a Micron 03 pen.
      Happy Painting,

    2. Yes, you draw the painting, then you paint with watercolours, , but at the end do you trace a black line with a marker or a ballpen? Thank you for the answer.

    3. I like them both but choose the landscape. MORE people, more of the building & MORE of your work to view! LOVE your style of painting.
How long do your paintings take from start to finish?

  12. Portrait. It accentuates the height of the buildings. My eye wanders in the landscape, and is not sure where to focus. That said, they are both pleasing.

  13. Portrait. I like the way the buildings make the eye move up to the sky. Now I'll go read the other comments and see if I'm in the majority or minority.

  14. Hi Nora:) Long time I visited your blog and such a difficult question right away. Well they are both beautiful but I would go for the second. Your little people are always so fun painted. But hey: so many people, so many choises:)xx
