I spent the day at the awesome Spadina Museum here in Toronto. They have many beautiful flowers and little buildings, this one being my favourite. The Greenhouse! I love everything about it - especially painting it. : ) Enjoy.

Hey Sunshine!

ORIGINAL WATERCOLOUR - $125

More Flowers, of course! This colourful bouquet started with a few white and red friends... but then I spotted some purple flowers in the garden. So, I added them too!

$100 - original oil painting on 1/8"panel

I love the bright red on this very cool Eurasian Bullfinch. I discovered a photo reference on Pixabay, a free image site, when I typed in colourful birds. His lovely colours blend right into his cheeks! ; )

shades

 $80 - 6x8" original watercolour painting
I think with all this oil and gouache painting, my watercolours process has changed. I can't quite put my finger on it, still mulling it over, but I certainly want more completion and depth from watercolour. Thick paint gives volume immediately so, I guess, I'm trying to 'flesh out' (pun intended) my watercolours.
Here's the charcoal drawing before painting. : )

snow gate

$60 - 5x7" original watercolour painting with 8x10"mat

I often walk by this little courtyard with it's lovely archway. It's so cute and the recent snowfall makes it more beautiful than ever. I love how the snow contrasts the little black gate, perfect for pen and watercolour.

This little birdie likes long flights through the park, sweet berries and Jake Gyllenhaal movies. ; )

january's flower - the carnation

$60 - 5x7"original watercolour painting with 8x10"mat.

I love January. The start of a new year is always inspired by new year's resolutions and fresh ideas. This orange carnation is January's flower, bringing in the new year with lots of bold colour.
