in time

$100 - 6x6" original oil painting on 1" deep panel. Sides painted to match.

My flowers in a glass series continues. I love the challenge of this idea. The toughest part is actually keeping the exterior, out the window, all the same value. Of course, the real stars are the flowers, in water and able to breath but not quite free. Check out my facebook page or my Instagram page to see the time lapse film of the painting!

email me for Canadian Dollar Link. : )

I loved painting this burst of pink flowers. The sprig was just full of pretty little buds.

musical trio

I had a fantabulous time sketching a musical trio at life drawing today. They practised, we sketched. It was a great experience, mostly because musicians take 'poses' that life models never do, so it was all new to us.
There were three of them with five instruments. Violin, viola, flute, bassoon and piccolo. They switched seats every 20 minutes (playing musical chairs literally!) so we all had a good experience. I used charcoal pencil and watercolour, oh... and I had a blast! ; )

natural beauty

I’m very happy with the end result of this one, with all the cool green light bouncing around. I really wanted to do the model justice. I’m adding lots of colour on the light side, like I do with my watercolours, and still keeping it harmonious. Each portrait really is it's own learning process. 🙋🏻

Seahorse Sally

$60 - 5x7"original watercolour painting with 8x10"mat

Seahorse Sally: A passionate swimmer, Sally enjoys exploring tropical coastlines, chocolate mousse with real whipped cream and blowing bubbles. She is always seen wearing her favourite, but modest, coronet. Sally will happily reside in any room of your home, perhaps a blue bathroom for a lovely contrast with her warm orange tones. And really, who's bathroom isn't blue. ; )
