Bella

SOLD$120 - 9x12"original watercolour painting
I've been painting this lovely model for 19 years now. I believe she was the first life model I ever drew. It's always a lovely surprise when she shows up for our session.
Meanwhile, portraits aren't getting easier... just different. Here's a detail -

Daily Paintworks!!

I've now got all of my paintings for sale over at Daily Paintworks!

I was with Etsy, but the site is a bit clumsy and complicated to manuveur. Etsy makes everyone sign in, create a password and have an account. Ugg.

At Daily Paintworks, a simple click on the PayPal button and you're good to go! No signing in required. You can register if you want, they have lots of amazing artists to check out, or you can just put in your shipping region/country and make your purchase. : )

I think my clients and I will be much happier at DPW with a simple PayPal/Credit button!

purple puzzle pieces

$40 - 4x6"painting
I painted this wonderful lavender for the Daily Paintworks "Escape the Snow" Challenge. I love the weekly challenge posted on the DPW site, it makes me paint subjects I might not otherwise explore. : )

in earnest

I'll do doing a Watercolour Demo for the North York Visual Artists, here in Toronto, at the end of the month. I will doing a painting of an animal... and so far I think I'll chose a dog. It's a rare subject to see for a demo and I think it will be of interest to the group. Also, this one is 11x14", which is big for me so stickin' with my New Year's Resolution to work bigger. : )

all together

It always such a treat to see all of my work together and framed. I was very proud of my collection in this show. We had a constant stream of people, lots of sales and yummy treats! The East Toronto Arts&Crafts show is my favourite of the year because the vendors are so friendly!! Until next time...

pages of people

I spent the day teaching the wonderful Mississauga Art Group. They lost their fear of putting people into paintings after we did pages of them! Each drawing is the size of a silver dollar.

Saturday stroll

SOLD

A friend and I went urban sketching today at the Toronto Distillery District. I thought I'd try the Micron .005 pen, which is super thin. I quite like the look of it!

loosey-goosey

Very happy with how wet and drippy this one turned out. I love watercolours that look the way only a watercolour can look.

admiring the Pre-Raphaelites

$70 - 8x10"painting
This is the second one I drew at the Art Gallery of Ontario last week. I'm very happy with the two pieces from that evening so I'll have to go back... perhaps next time it's raining.

top of the ramp

$70 - 8x10"painting
Another great outing with the Toronto Plein-Air Group. We met up at City Hall and climbed the ramp for an aerial view.

You can see 'old' city hall in the background. I'm at 'new' city hall, (which really isn't new anymore.)
