Happy Victoria Day


Painting this was such a battle! The Queen Victoria statue here in Toronto is actually black. The plan was to make her look like a statue, but all that dark bronze... ugg. So, I made up flesh colours as I went along and, typical of me, I got a little 'colour happy'!

  22. Nice that you brought the statue to life!!!

    I love the coffee sketches below. When I do people in cafes or stores I ofen do the top of one person and the bottom of another. They are usually facing in the same direction, and if one moves it is fairly easy to complete the sketch using parts from someone else. lol Great job on these pieces!

    Beatiful paint! The queen is really a hard queen and your colours gives her more autorithy and force!
