I love this Asian tea pot in real life as much as I loved painting it! It was fun to do the little blue scenes on it. I also got a little creative with the way I cut the orange. I'm really enjoying adding so much 'stuff' to my still life set ups lately.

Tulips move a lot, mostly in a drooping fashion, under a hot spotlight. Still, I had a great time painting these changing flowers.

Bayview Watercolour Society

A few evenings ago, I did a Watercolour Demo for the Bayview Watercolour Society. First I spoke about my work as a daily painter, then about learning to draw from life drawing sessions and finally about being an urban sketcher. After the break I painted a small still life set up, which you can see in the bottom right.

Spent the day with the Toronto Urban Sketchers at an old downtown building, that is about to be demolished. The organizer of the group is putting together a book of our paintings, based on disappearing landmarks in Toronto. It's kind of a sad subject, but an important one.
