snowy bicycles

$120 - 6x6" original oil painting
Snow creates such awesome shapes! Like the fun bits on the bicycles. Snow almost outlines them. I love winter! To be honest, this painting was suppose to be about the bikes but it was the little quick brushstrokes for the footprints that were the most fun!

$80 - original oil painting on 1/8" canvas panel
Today I drew the model (from a zoom session, super fun) with cerulean blue. Then I mixed up some lime green and some purple and just used those two colours, plus white of course. It turned out to be a challenging but very modern palette. It took me a while to warm up to it but now, I love the way it looks.

tea and raspberry pie

$120 - 6x8" original oil painting on 1" deep panel

The most fun I had painting this one, and really it was all fun, was the little raspberries next the the slices of pie. Filling the tea cups with a little dash of paint was also a blast. I'm really enjoying painting interiors. Traditionally interiors don't have people but I'm thinking... maybe. ; )

early valentines

SOLD
$100 - 6x6" original oil painting on 1" deep panel. Sides painted to match.

These two cutie patootie daisies are getting cozy. They're already thinking about the next holiday - Valentine's Day. Thanks for the photo reference Carol over on DailyPaintworks! I haven't done a challenge in a while so - great to be inspired by a photo. Love the yellow and turquoise combo!

6x6" original oil painting on 1" deep cradled panel. Sides painted.

I love pink and brown together and I thought... can I make the clouds pink and brown... will it work? So, I went for it and I'm super happy that I did. This is the advantage of painting small and often - ya' try things!

Then I decided to paint it in the usual colours but putting as much colour into the greys as possible.

SOLD
6x6" original oil painting on 1" deep cradled panel.
Here's a pic of the first one again, with the sides painted to match.

the tea shop

SOLD
$60 - 5x7" original watercolour painting in 8x10"mat
Last night on Youtube, the awesome SketchingPlayLab held a live painting session. It was great to paint while they talked about art and shared their styles and supplies. This little tea shop is a different kind of interior for me, but still in line with my interior interest lately. ; )

the sunny studio

SOLD
$100 - 6x8" original oil painting on 1" deep panel. Sides painted
There was just something about this little room that grabbed me, the minute I saw the light shinning across the floor. I knew I had to paint it. I added a few colourful dabs on the desktop and some pink flowers too. Then there's the exterior, I kept it all the same value but with a variety of playful colours.
Super happy with this cozy room.

The Pillow Collection

SOLD
$120 - 8x10" original oil painting on 1" panel
I ad-libbed a few tassels (so cute) and a few stripes on all my pillows. And I added a coffee cup. I love painting interiors. All the shapes and colours and overlapping pillows are a wonderful challenge.
