courtyard corner

Original 7x7" watercolour painting

SOLD

I painted this pretty red bicycle and doorway while out on a plein-air day with a Toronto art group. The little courtyard at the University of Toronto is beautiful and this scene just caught my eye. Check out my little paintbox that I use when outdoor painting. WooHoo!

snowy bicycles

$120 - 6x6" original oil painting
Snow creates such awesome shapes! Like the fun bits on the bicycles. Snow almost outlines them. I love winter! To be honest, this painting was suppose to be about the bikes but it was the little quick brushstrokes for the footprints that were the most fun!

The mild weather has been wonderful but I'm sure glad it snowed. It's just so fun to paint!

let's walk

$60 - 5x7"painting with 8x10"mat.
Well, we've had lots of snow! I love the way snow sits between the tree branches and on bicycle seats. It makes good shapes. Also, I wanted to see if I could get two thirds of the bicycle to 'work' in the foreground. I'm happy with this year's first winter scene.

rainy ride

In my last post, I added a picture of a painting I did on location. Here it is! If you look carefully, you'll see the little dog about to cross the street.

sit back and relax

$50 - 5x7" painting with 8x10" mat.
I painted these motorcycles on site with my paint box on my lap. They caught my attention as they sat there, all in a row, waiting for me to paint their portraits.
