Nora, I have to tell you (and maybe I have in previous comments?) but I too LOVE your style! If I ever have some extra cash around (certainly don't after Christmas), I plan to buy one of your paintings. I love the lines, the way you use your colors, etc. and I especially love the 'scenes'. Thanks for sharing with us.
A bamboo pen sounds so exotic! Also complicated. (I've never used a dip pen - maybe it's not so bad!) Either way, beautiful result! Really wonderful, snowy scene.
I really love the marks your bamboo and ink makes. I might just have to add them to my collection! I love your painting. Gorgeous and so full of character :0)
Brrrrr..........very nice painting. I hope to play with some drawing and watercolors for the Dailypaintworks challenge this week. You make it look easy and fun!
This is so winter and I get a feeling that the snow came last, so convincing is it. I love your winter cityscapes and I love this one. PS! I usually do some kind of line work first.
Thanks for showing us the pen, it looks like fun! Just a question, do you work from life or from photos? My guess is from life because I feel a sense of direct observation. You must also be freezing, thats a lot of snow!
Beautiful drawing! I especially love the snow on the seats and tires and how they kind of blend in with the ones in the back. your drawings are always so fun. A few questions, if you don't mind - how do you attach the drawing to the board? What kind of wood support is it?
Wow! Das ist wieder so ein schönes Aquarell. Ich liebe deine herrlichen Bilder. Sie sind einzigartig :-) Ich schaffe es garnicht, so oft bei dir vorbei zuschauen
Just looking at it makes me shiver ... Perhaps I prefer our constant rain after all! Not a fan of snow, and your painting really puts across all the feelings of 'snowed up'. But I do like the painting, and the great drawing.
I love love your style!!!!

ReplyDeleteLovely light feeling to this and your use of a largely cool palette evokes the conditions and makes the warms ping.
ReplyDeleteI love this one, Nora!!! I love how the bicycle is halfway buried in the snow...very realistic..makes me cold!!!

ReplyDeleteLove the soft colors with the hint of brightness! You turn an ordinary scene, like a bike left out in the snow into something truly beautiful!
