I painted this original watercolour at a lovely greenhouse near the university. The oranges and pinks were so pretty that I wanted to capture them. And they were so happy together... that I decided to title it "all for one". Such a lovely pot of flowers.

I've been painting, and teaching, animals in watercolour lately. It's easy to shy away from horses because they're so challenging. But, I'm trying to step up to the plate and capture thier beautiful eyes and distictive shape. Enjoyed painting this immensely! I hope you enjoy it too.

I recently taught a Zoom watercolour painting class for the awesome Humber Valley Art Club. A wonderful group of artists who were very attentive as they painted along and I talked (and talked #heehee) about painting. I'm going back there in May for my first 'in person' workshop which will be on watercolour portraits. Super excited to be teaching in person. Fingers crossed...again.

Spring isn't quite in the air... but I'm gearing up for it!! 

My next project will be putting my watercolour paintings on board and waxing (!) them so they do not need to be framed behind glass. I'm very excited about this new way of showing my art. I've been watching lots of videos about how to do this, as well as talking to fellow artists who've done it successfully. Fingers crossed. #nextproject

I've always liked the little cocktail umbrellas that adorn 'fancy', sometimes silly, drinks. So here they are! Painting their shadows was just as fun as painting them. As well as a cool bird. Looking into the cup and red vase was tricky, but I like the circular shapes they make. A few cherries and Voila!
