nuts



I recently told a fellow artist that I hate the colour yellow. He said, "Are you crazy? As an artist, you should never decide that you hate a colour... never."  This morning I looked at these bananas and thought, perhaps it's time to embrace yellow.

    En tous cas je trouve que tu as fait un merveilleux pied de nez à ton préjugé... tes bananes sont réussies... et puis le jaune te va bien !!

    And wow, you have done such a wonderful job! Your yellow is so much more interesting than bog standard yellow. It's colourful, and yet somehow still...yellow! Perfect :0)

    I love the bananas, you did an awesome job with them, especially the variations in colors and the way you pull the piece together by using the purples. It's wonderfully artistic! I don't remember where, but I recently heard a story of an art instructor who told his class to pull out their favorite color from the crayon box and then he took those away. They had to learn that other colors have just as much potential for expressing what they wanted to create. Good for you for embracing yellow! I suppose every basic color has shades that we either love or hate. We just need to find a way to make that color sing in our tune!
