portraits in charcoal

Two very different women, from very different times. I'm toning my sketchbook paper with willow charcoal then drawing with it and an eraser.

  2. These are fabulous! Is the first one you when you were younger? I love the second drawing - great eyes, glasses, and teeth - teeth! Who can draw teeth and make it work?! Phenomenal!

  3. Je vous fais la révérence ma chère !... Très jolie travail que ces deux portraits... Le premier possède un regard profond... un regard qui ressemble un peu au vôtre. Je ne connais de vous que votre photo...
    Bravo !

  4. Two different ladies but both have the same wistful, but hopeful expression. Beautifully drawn.

  5. What an intriguing process! I can imagine how that method would render some very expressive compositions, and would really make you think about light and darks in a piece. These are both awesome portraits.

  7. I love the first picture where I feel somewhat fragile due to the expression of the eyes, an emotion passes. Very good!
