Still having a blast using the Copic Markers value 30% and 70%, along with a black Micron 3 pen. Each title came to me as I was drawing, which you can see under the sketch.
I bought a book titled "Value Sketching with Markers" by Darrell Andersononline. (This link includes sample pages). It's just wonderful and very inspiring! It's about doing value sketches, something I can loose sight of since I'm so into line and colour. Hence the sketch below...
Now, I know Billy Joel's "Piano Man" lyrics are ...'son can you play me a memory' and 'we're all in the mood for a melody' but as a kid I always got it wrong and reversed them. I kinda prefer it my way(!), hence the title of this painting. Click on image to enlarge.
This handful of hot peppers are gathered around the wonderful reflections water in glass make when backlit. I entered this in the DailyPaintworks Glass Challenge.
I'm still happy working with an energetic gestural line and lots of colour. I also want the paint to be distinctively watercolour, keeping that wet look.
