8x8" original watercolour painting

Dogs go back to school in September... don't they? ; ) This smart Husky sure does.  Well, more like go to the beach and fetch sticks and splash around in the water...  #hehe Seriously, I love the fall and I guess because of school, I still feel like September is the start of a 'new year'.

This little yellow cup is my new favourite still life object. So cute! These flowers from my garden sat perfectly in it. You can check out the time lapse video of me painting this one on my Instagram.

first snowfall

$100 - 6x6" original oil painting on 1/8" panel
Robins are such wonderful birds to paint because the bright red and orange colours contrast beautifully with the many warm and cool greys. I painted this cutie-patootie on the first snowfall here in Toronto. It was a big decision to add the snowflakes but, I thought what the heck, and I went for it! ; )

just walk beside me and be my friend

SOLD

$50 - 5"x7"painting with 8"x10"matt.
I got the title of this painting from a wonderful poem by Albert Camus.
Don't walk behind me; I may not lead.
Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow.
Just walk beside me and be my friend.

the long goodbye

 $30 - 4X6"painting
I bought a book titled "Value Sketching with Markers" by Darrell Anderson online. (This link includes sample pages). It's just wonderful and very inspiring! It's about doing value sketches, something I can loose sight of since I'm so into line and colour. Hence the sketch below...

in the mood for a memory

SOLD

Now, I know Billy Joel's "Piano Man" lyrics are ...'son can you play me a memory' and 'we're all in the mood for a melody' but as a kid I always got it wrong and reversed them. I kinda prefer it my way(!), hence the title of this painting. Click on image to enlarge.
$140 - 12x16" painting.

SOLD

I'm still happy working with an energetic gestural line and lots of colour. I also want the paint to be distinctively watercolour, keeping that wet look.
