Little K

SOLD

$100 - 6x6" original oil painting with 3/4"sides
Remember these adorable Koala clips?! I wore one on my knapsack all through junior high school and another on the collar of my winter coat. Well, I recently found Little K here at a garage sale and I happily thought, 'he can be part of my finger puppet collection... and my painting series'. #toocute

Abby and her whiskers

SOLD
Abby the Mouse has the cutest whiskers ever! Not to mention her adorable pink nose. Finger puppets are so fun and, it turns out, a blast to paint. I'm using bright contrasting colours for my backgrounds for this series. My hand studies continue with my little puppet collection helping me out. Sides painted.

Thanks so much to everyone who joined my Zoom Flower Painting Demo!! It went great. And here is the end result. I'm very happy with it. I ended up adding the little red bud after all - otherwise I didn't change a thing. Cheers to all those familiar faces and so nice to meet new people too!! See you on Zoom soon.

made you smile

SOLD
$100 - 6x6" original oil painting on board
The male Cardinal is a bird familiar to us all. He's especially wonderful to spot in the winter, with his gorgeous red colours and distinctive beak. Always a happy sight.

This Australian Zebra Finch has stripes, hence his name, as well as dots and a cute red beak. They jump around a lot saying "meep meep". Such a pleasure to paint! I made a video of the painting process in real time but edited down to 2 minutes. Check my Facebook or Instagram pages. Cheers.

first snowfall

$100 - 6x6" original oil painting on 1/8" panel
Robins are such wonderful birds to paint because the bright red and orange colours contrast beautifully with the many warm and cool greys. I painted this cutie-patootie on the first snowfall here in Toronto. It was a big decision to add the snowflakes but, I thought what the heck, and I went for it! ; )

Peacock in Profile

I really wanted to focus on this proud friend's beautiful turquoise crown, or crest, today. It's quite stunning and sometimes overlooked since people get dazzled by the feathers on the peacock's tail. I enjoyed painting this beauty. (Very happy with the eye!). See my Instagram page for step by step pics. Cheers.

the view from here

SOLD
$100 - 6x6" original oil painting on 1/8" panel

The 'flowers in a glass' series continues! Which is a big deal because, my 'series' usually don't make it past number 3, and I'm at number 7 with this one! Today I added a turquoise polka-dotted piece of paper onto the table, just for another element. I had a blast painting them in shadow and in light. Plus, they echo the violet's little yellow centres. Phew!

in time

$100 - 6x6" original oil painting on 1" deep panel. Sides painted to match.

My flowers in a glass series continues. I love the challenge of this idea. The toughest part is actually keeping the exterior, out the window, all the same value. Of course, the real stars are the flowers, in water and able to breath but not quite free. Check out my facebook page or my Instagram page to see the time lapse film of the painting!

email me for Canadian Dollar Link. : )

This cute purple crocus is one of many, popping up all over the place for spring. She's saying "Oh, virus... I thought you said Iris!" (Also, it was quite fun painting the sheer curtain!)
