Here is the second painting that I got into the juried show. It is 8"x24" and it's in a cute blue frame.
I am doing a series of paintings that look like an open sketchbook on a table. As you can see, I painted the spiral bound centre as well as page numbers with little mice! (Sorry the pics aren't a bit better... but it's already under glass!).
Yippee! My bear painting just got accepted into the Willowdale Group of Artists Juried Show here in Toronto. My second submission was also accepted but I haven't taken a photo of it yet. I'll post it soon.
I was asked, along with 4 other painters, to do a watercolour painting demonstration from life. Here we are painting the lovely model (I couldn't resist adding the other artists!) That's me in stripes. Fellow members of the art group walked around and watched, asked questions, ate cookies and had fun!
Here are my two contributions to this week's Daily Paintworks Challenge, which is to draw people quickly and from memory. I drew some people who were outside, as they briskly passed my window, as well as inside, (obviously!) at my Life Drawing Session of short poses.
I just finished teaching the wonderful Cawthra Art Group. We spent 4 weeks together covering cafe scenes, cityscapes, still life and, as you can see, Einstein portraits! It was a fantastic experience with lovely and talented artists!
Anyone can join in on the fun, using any medium you'd like, to do a portrait of the wonderful Albert Einstein! Below is the photo I worked from, although there are lots and lots of him to choose from at Google Images. Just remember, since we are using photos supplied by other people, it's practise only. But practise is important, and fun!
