This colourful beauty can be found amongst the trees in Africa. One of the most colourful birds known to us, the lilac-breasted roller. So fun to paint! And I kept the brach flowers loosey-goosey so he stayed the star of the show.

DeleteIt's from a free photo reference that I got from Pixabay (great site for free pics). I drew it onto a gessoed board (I used white and black gesso mixed together for a nice mid-grey), then I just went for it with paint! It's 6x6" and a small panel can allow for experimentation and exploring. I like to paint a lot, "Work Small Learn Big" as they say.
