It was so nice to see someone reading a book at a local cafe this morning. Instead of having their nose in their phone. When I first started drawing I captured people reading all the time. Now, it's a rare treat.

I drew this at a cafe then painted it at home. I wanted to see if the chair in the bottom left foreground would work. Trying to think a lot more about design these days.

and the plot thickens

I'm continuing to turn my sketches into oil paintings, which means learning to sketch in a new way.  I love line drawings, but they don't give me the information I need to paint from.  So, my original sketch was made up of values and colour notes.
