Vine and Art Show

I made a few vine videos... Vine is an app which lets you make a 7 second stop motion video. Sound kooky?! Check out my cafe drawing HERE (the gray square) on my facebook page. You don't need to friend or follow me to see it, although you can!

Also, I'm in the Riverdale Group Art Show this weekend. It's always a lovely show with lots of walk in traffic.

I've been painting on hot-pressed paper lately. Due to the smooth texture the paint sits on top of the paper, unlike cold pressed which absorbs the paint slightly. As a result, I think the watercolour keeps it's colour and glows more. I also like the way the pencil glides across this paper. I think I'll stick with it!

The good thing about a snowstorm is that everyone stays inside drinking tea! So, I had time to enjoy drawing. Unfortunately, the man in the front left before I took the picture. I added a line/frame, a knapsack on the bottom right and of course, my signature. (CLICK IMAGES TO ENLARGE).

I drew this at a cafe and then painted it once I got home. Since people move so quickly, I draw them one at a time. I finish drawing them just as they zoom off. Then I wait for the next person to come along, figure out where to put them in the composition, then draw them quick before they go. I wait for the next person, see where they fit in, and draw them quick. It's like putting people into the puzzle of a drawing! It's a great challenge.

Today I drew on 8"x10" watercolour paper instead of the usual discreet 5"x7" pad. Everyone was so involved with their book, computer or friends, they still didn't notice me drawing them!
