I added a water-soluble pen to my usual pencil drawing for this tiger painting. It creates a lovely gray, which is a bit unpredictable when mixed in with the watercolour, so it kept me on my toes. (like a wild cat might!) For the Blog Painting Challenge at Studio Atelier.
Here's my version of the Rookie Painter Challenge, from a lovely photo they provide. It's always interesting to paint someone else's still life set up.
My main objective here was to get colour in the darks while keeping them transparent. I worked from a photo reference, which is not the way I usually paint, but I'm happy with the results. SOLD 108
