pause... and paws

$80 - 5x7" original watercolour painting in 8x10"mat
Bernese Mountain Dog - so lovely. I thought I'd title it pause, because he's taking a little break. And then I thought... oh... paws! So naturally the title became "pause... and paws" Heehee. I do like painting dogs, especially when they have darks and lights in their fur colours, that way there's lots of colour contrast.

the little hut by the sea

$100 - 8x10" image includes 11x14"mat
Well, this is a big painting for me! It comes in an 11x14"mat, ready to frame. This little hut, at the end of the road, has lots of colourful objects left about - obviously lived in and obviously an escape from the big city. I added a few brooms (in a barrel) in case you're in the mood for spring cleaning! Cheers to brejanz on Insta for the photo.

the getaway

$100 - 6x9" original watercolour painting in 9x12"mat.
I wanted to paint this lovely lakefront cabin because of the string of pennants that hang across the deck. So colourful... right up my alley! Thanks to Instagramers Marek and Shari, and Christina for the photo, who encouraged us all to paint along with them during their live demo.
Here's a few more photos - : )

listening to a friend

The thing that is interesting to me about painting two people talking is, capturing the body language. Just grabbing a 'talking pose' and a 'listening pose' is so intriguing to me.

Pear Pals

$80 - 5x7" original watercolour painting with 8x10"acid-free mat.
Side by side, these pear pals are full of splashes of colour! I drew them with a charcoal pencil, which darkens as it gets wet, then I added as much pink, red, purple and green as I could!

The Sketchbook Project

Here are a few pages from my sketchbook that I made for The Sketchbook Project. It is an art gallery in Brooklyn, New York that has sketchbooks from all over the world, from floor to ceiling. Proud to be part of it. Also, they have a bookmobile for the sketchbooks to travel the world! Here's the link to my sketchbook, all 30 pages! Big thanks to those that click on it. : )
